Audits & Expert Witness
Providing robust advice that increases prospects of planning permission
Whilst we predominantly use our capabilities to benefit our clients in achieving positive and negotiated placemaking, we also have a longstanding and nationally recognised capability in carrying out audits of projects prepared by others.
Whilst we predominantly use our capabilities to benefit our clients in achieving positive and negotiated placemaking, we also have a longstanding and nationally recognised capability in carrying out audits of projects prepared by others.
Our audits provide clear and cogent advice at all stages, from due diligence pre-purchase, prior to submitting planning applications through to following refusal of planning permission.
Using recognised methodologies and advanced technologies we establish and assess the key issues in any scheme proposal and assess these against appropriate policy and guidance benchmarks, as well as experience of a wide variety of appeal decisions and case law.
We have been recommended by the majority of the top 10 UK KCs in this role for over 15 years, and have given evidence at well over 100 appeals.
This expertise is applied to audits and expert witness in the following areas:
- Masterplanning

- Green Belt / Grey Belt

Appropriate Methodology
We establish appropriate methodologies for each project’s key considerations. This is not in the form of a rigid structure, but does apply consistently our deep understanding of our profession as well as planning policy and guidance.
Clear Conclusions
We provide clear conclusions on prospects for success and whether change is required — and if so, what change.
Expert Witness
We robustly defend our professional judgements through evidence and expert witness.
