Kate Ellis
Landscape Architect, BA (Hons) MA CMLI
Kate joined Define in 2020 and completed her Master’s in Landscape Architecture shortly afterwards. She has since become a Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute, achieving this through passing her P2C exam in 2025.
Kate works across a wide range of projects, from early concept design through to detailed delivery. She provides technical support to the team in landscape design and character analysis, and also leads on Vectorworks best practice.
With a Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture and an undergraduate degree in Geography, Kate has a strong interest in biodiversity and sustainability, which she integrates into her design approach.
Her notable projects include Brooklands College, where she contributed to the redevelopment of the former Brooklands Mansion grounds in Weybridge. This project delivered new college facilities alongside a contemporary housing development.
Kate also plays a key role in the Ebbsfleet Garden City project, contributing to the design and delivery of over 20 hectares of green infrastructure. Her involvement spans from initial concept design through to detailed design and construction support on one of the UK’s most high-profile residential developments.
In addition, Kate sits on the Advisory Council for the Landscape Institute as the West Midlands Branch Representative. She is an active supporter of the landscape industry and regularly represents Define at local events.
